Project initiatives
The Law Centre is involved in a number of projects which are funded by London Councils to provide a range of advice services across London.
We are the lead agency on 2 projects:
These projects enable us to offer a wide range of legal advice and assistance to Londoners within certain boroughs.
Our partners in this work are Camden Community Law Centre and Paddington Law Centre.
We have good links with a wide range of community organisations. Clients are welcome to contact us directly in order to see whether we are able to assist you. From time to time we hold training events for community organisations - please contact us for details of upcoming events.
We are also partners in a number of other pan-London projects supported by London Councils, which include:
-
Education Law advice and assistance including representation at SENDIST hearings
-
Employment Tribunal work
-
Young People's Homelessness project - working to help young people at risk of homelessness in Enfield, Barnet, Islington and Camden.
Other projects
The Law Centre is very active in a number of partnerships in the borough, and we are pleased to be able to deliver a range of of projects.
These are designed to ensure that we can offer outreach so that people can get legal help in venues near to where they live - for example, a housing office, children's centre or community centre.
We also have some referral arrangements with other agencies, so that we can assist people who may not know about us or be able to contact us directly.
Our reception and referral service can talk to you about the most convenient service for you.
Current projects include:-
-
the Independent Advice Project which offers housing and welfare benefits help for Homes for Islington residents
