Education

Our Education unit has one full-time and one part-time caseworker and gives advice by telephone in the first instance.

Please call 020 7607 2461.

The receptionist will take your details and pass them to the unit. A legal adviser will call you for a telephone advice session usually within one day. If the adviser ascertains that you need further advice and assistance, he or she will make a face-to-face appointment with you at the Law Centre.

 

Advice offered by the unit includes:

Statutory assessements of special educational needs

Appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal

Disability discrimination

Appeals against fixed period and permanent exclusions

School admission appeals

School attendance

Formal complaints including complaints about bullying, discrimination, the curriculum, school transport.

Complaints to the Local Government Ombudsman

Judicial Review and Statutory Appeals
